The Author

My name is Sasha Watkins and I am a food coach.  I’m a registered dietitian working in London and mother of a little boy. I am passionate about nutrition and helping others get to grips with it. I’m also a realist. Healthy living needs to fit in a busy lifestyle. I’m a strong believer that small changes can make a big difference and healthy eating can be easy.

I’m a media spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and on the BDA Communications and Marketing Board. I am also the Press Officer for the Food Allergy and Intolerance Specialist Group of the BDA and was recently awarded the BDA Roll of Honour (2011). I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, Dietitians in Obesity Management (DOMUK) and the Freelance Dietitians Group.

My goal

Apple a day thinking…sharing my nutrition knowledge in bite size chunks, debunking the myths, and getting healthy eating back on the menu.

My promise

I  will use current scientific evidence where possible but promise to keep the nutrition messages simple. I will abide by ethical blogging and will not provide false or misleading information. My thoughts and opinions are my own and so, unfortunately, is my humour!

Disclosure Policy

All my posts are independent, I never accept any gifts or financial remuneration in exchange for a blog post. The information and advice provided in my blog is of a general nature and should never replace individual health advice provided by your healthcare professional team.

Nutrition is an everchanging scientific field that is constantly being updated. Archived posts may not always contain the latest and greatest recommendations or information, despite all efforts to update them. Individual nutrition advice should always be obtained from a qualified dietitian.

I do occasional work for Mead Johnson Nutrition, a hypoallergenic infant formula manufacturer, in my capacity as a freelance registered dietitian. The views and opinions expressed on this site are solely mine and are not related, nor should they be interpreted as reflecting the views, opinions or policies of Mead Johnson Nutrition.
